Ireland’s capital city is being tipped as one of the world’s emerging global cities: a financial and technological hub which has become a preferred destination for Silicon Valley’s forays into Europe. A vibrant and youthful city, Dublin has a reputation as a fun and charming tourist destination, whilst its extremely well-educated population has made it a first-choice market for foreign investment and enterprise. Indeed, successive governments have made every effort to ensure that Ireland remains a dynamic and attractive location for capital, whether established multinational company or start-up venture. This combination of factors has seen the rapid expansion of the Irish middle class and an exponential increase in national wealth. Consequently, Ireland, and, in particular, Dublin has become a luxury destination, with high-end shopping, well-established heritage brands and top-class hotels and restaurants.
